Once Apollo 13 was on its way to the Moon, the crew jettisoned the remaining part of the Saturn V rocket. They then detached the Lunar Module from the back of the Service Module and docked it to the front of the Command Module so they could crawl through into it. After the Oxygen tank explosion in the Service Module, the crew started working out of the Lunar Module, Aquarius, using it as a ‘lifeboat’.
